Posted on Lisa Russ2025-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Matt for his exceptional service. He exceeded his responsibilities by adding a heat pump to my home purchase. Without prior acquaintance, he took the initiative to visit the property and assess the job requirements. On the same day, he contacted me to confirm that he could complete the task within a few hours, providing a reasonable price. I was delighted not only by the affordability but also by his ability to schedule the work for the following week. After searching for a month for someone to undertake this project, I encountered numerous companies unwilling to travel to my area. However, Matt not only accepted the job but also executed it with remarkable skill and efficiency, all while keeping costs manageable. I wholeheartedly recommend him and his company to anyone seeking honesty, quality workmanship, and a customer-first approach. Thank you, Matt, for your outstanding support "Lisa Russ"Posted on Brianne Hess2025-10-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Matt and his team are amazing! Scheduling was very simple and the person organizing dispatch was courteous. The technician was professional in appearance and behavior. Initially we had scheduled for an annual maintenance which was quoted at $199 but as it turned out we were having problems with our evaporator coil freezing so that was reduced to a diagnostic service call for only $80; that was my mistake for scheduling it as an annual checkup as opposed to a service call so I don't know that the tech was prepared to do cleaning and/or repairs. He did inspect the equipment however, after finding our return vents suboptimal are evaporator coil clogged and potentially a bad capacitor and dirty fan blades and our outdoor condenser was reportedly " very loud but in operable condition with no leaks in the system" he was adamant that we either spend several thousand dollars having them clean the air handler and replacing some maintenance Parts such as the capacitor, cleaning the fan, and replacing the evaporator coil which involves evacuating the coolant, cutting out the evaporator coil from the copper lines and resetting a new evaporator coil in its place. Alternatively we were offered the option to replace the outdoor condenser and the indoor Handler with some modifications being made to the ductwork to improve return air for approximately $9,000. I disassembled the air handler and cleaned the fan and had a technician from another local company come out and look at the system. they disassembled and cleaned the evaporator coil without having to cut the lines and then rechecked the pressures at the condenser and found the improvements in aiflow had raised pressures at the condenser and solved our freezing problem, he also took the time to evaluate our duct work and while not optimal for an older house the system setup is quite common and should be more than sufficient for the requirements of the air handler furthermore they offered to help us find appropriate filters for the returns to prevent the evaporator coil from getting clogged in the future and advised on appropriate filters to use at the air handler. they evaluated the condenser and found that it was no louder than normal and in good working order. How *long* it stays working... we'll see EDIT: after having a discussion with the owner Matt, I understand his point of view about wanting to remove the coil to clean it to prevent potential liability for damage to the lines that looked likely to occur. The options that he gave us a replacing components versus replacing the entire system were reasonable and allowed us to pick from within our interests and budget. It was not high pressure sales pitch or anything like that. but as always folks, if money is tight a second opinion on such a big project never hurts.Posted on Kristopher Herring2025-09-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Rocky Top homeowners should schedule HVAC maintenance at least twice yearly—once in spring before cooling season and once in fall before heating season. This twice-yearly schedule allows technicians to prepare your equipment for the demanding seasons ahead and catch worn components before they cause failures. Preventive maintenance significantly extends equipment life and maintains efficiency, which saves money over time.
During maintenance visits, technicians inspect and clean components, check refrigerant levels, test safety controls, and identify potential problems. For heat pump systems common in Rocky Top homes, fall maintenance is especially important to ensure heating reliability through winter. Our team offers HVAC maintenance in Rocky Top plans that bundle both seasonal visits with priority scheduling and discounts on repairs.
Loud banging or booming sounds when your furnace ignites typically indicate delayed ignition—gas builds up briefly before finally igniting, creating a pressure wave. This problem is more common in older furnaces but can develop in newer units when burners become dirty or gas pressure drops. Delayed ignition puts stress on heat exchangers and can eventually cause cracks, so addressing the issue promptly matters.
In Rocky Top homes, this problem often develops after long summer shutdowns when dust and debris accumulate on burners. Our technicians commonly resolve furnace repair in Rocky Top for ignition delays by cleaning burners, adjusting gas pressure, and checking ignition components. Schedule service promptly—delayed ignition voids warranties on newer furnaces and significantly increases safety risks.
The decision to repair or replace depends on your AC’s age, repair costs, and efficiency. If your air conditioner is under ten years old and the repair cost is less than half of replacement cost, repair makes sense. However, if your unit is over twelve years old, uses R-22 refrigerant, or requires frequent repairs, replacement typically provides better long-term value despite higher upfront costs.
Newer air conditioners operate significantly more efficiently than units from even a decade ago. Rocky Top homeowners replacing fifteen-year-old systems often cut cooling costs by thirty percent or more. Our technicians provide honest assessments during air conditioning repair in Rocky Top consultations, helping you weigh repair costs against replacement benefits based on your specific situation.
Air duct cleaning improves indoor air quality, increases HVAC efficiency, and can reduce utility costs. Over time, ducts accumulate dust, allergens, pet dander, and contaminants that continuously recirculate through your home. Cleaning removes this buildup, providing noticeable improvements for families with allergies, asthma, or respiratory sensitivities.
Restricted airflow from dirty ducts forces your HVAC system to work harder, increasing energy consumption and accelerating component wear. After duct cleaning in Rocky Top, many homeowners notice better airflow, clearer air, and lower monthly bills. We recommend cleaning every five to seven years under normal conditions, or more frequently if you have pets, smoke indoors, or notice significant dust accumulation on vents.
Heat pumps operating in Rocky Top’s variable climate may show signs of inefficiency before obvious failures occur. Watch for ice buildup on outdoor coils during winter, insufficient heating despite extended run times, rising energy bills, or unusual noises during operation. Short cycling—frequent on-off cycling—often indicates refrigerant issues or compressor strain.
Heat pumps are designed for our climate but can struggle during extended cold spells when temperatures drop below thirty degrees for days at a time. Our technicians provide heat pump repair in Rocky Top that addresses efficiency losses before they become complete failures. Annual fall maintenance is especially important for heat pump systems to ensure reliable heating through our mountain winters.
